Editorial Policies
Editorial Independence & Policy
The International Interdisciplinary Conference on Research Opportunities (IICRO) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity. This document outlines the boundaries and autonomy of our editorial processes.
Handling of Editors versus Conference Organizers
To ensure unbiased peer review and publication decisions, IICRO enforces a strict operational firewall between the Editorial Board and the Conference Organizing Committee.
- Distinct Roles: Conference organizers are responsible for venue logistics, scheduling, finances, and general event management. They have no jurisdiction over paper acceptance or peer-review outcomes.
- Editorial Authority: The Editorial Board handles the scientific merit, peer-review process, and final publication decisions entirely independent of logistical or financial considerations of the conference.
- Communication: Interactions between these two bodies are limited strictly to administrative coordination (e.g., transmitting final lists of accepted papers for scheduling purposes).
Policy for Editor Resignation in the Event of Conflict
Integrity is paramount. If a situation arises where an editor feels their independence is compromised or they face a severe conflict of interest, clear protocols are in place.
- Immediate Disclosure: Any editor experiencing undue pressure from organizers, sponsors, or external entities must immediately disclose the conflict to the Chief Editor or the Ethics Committee.
- Recusal and Resignation: If the conflict cannot be resolved while maintaining absolute objectivity, the editor is obligated to recuse themselves from handling specific manuscripts or, if necessary, resign from their position on the board without penalty.
- Continuity of Review: In the event of a resignation, manuscripts currently under that editor's purview will be immediately reassigned to another qualified, impartial editor to ensure fair and timely processing for the authors.
Editorial Decision-Making Autonomy
The core of IICRO's academic credibility lies in the absolute autonomy of its editorial team.
- Merit-Based Decisions: All editorial decisions regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection are based solely on the scientific validity, originality, and clarity of the manuscript, as determined through rigorous double-blind peer review.
- Freedom from Interference: No external party—including sponsors, host institutions, or the organizing committee—can mandate the acceptance or rejection of any paper. Furthermore, authors' registration status or attendance at the conference does not influence the editorial evaluation process.
- Final Authority: The Chief Editor holds the ultimate authority on all published content. Appeals against editorial decisions are handled exclusively within the academic appeals framework managed by the Editorial Board.
Separation from Conference Organization and Publicity
To avoid any perception of commercial influence over scientific content, the editorial process is strictly separated from marketing and publicity efforts.
- Independent Communications: Promotional materials, call-for-papers advertising, and social media campaigns are managed by the Publicity Committee, independent of the Editorial Board.
- No Commercial Influence: Sponsors or financial partners cannot sponsor specific editorial slots, nor can they influence the selection of keynote speakers whose papers are subject to the same peer-review standards as regular submissions.
- Data Privacy: Authors' submission data and reviewer identities are kept strictly confidential within the editorial system and are never shared with the publicity team for marketing purposes.
Peer-Review Process
All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic quality, scientific integrity, and relevance to the conference themes. Under this system, the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.
Each submission is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with recognized expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers assess manuscripts based on originality, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, significance of results, and alignment with the conference scope.
In cases of divergent reviewer recommendations, the Editorial Board may appoint an additional reviewer. The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection rests with the Editorial Board, based on reviewers’ reports and the overall scholarly merit of the manuscript.
Editorial Governance & Endorsement
The editorial process is conducted under strict academic standards to ensure transparency, fairness, and scholarly excellence. The Editorial Board is responsible for overseeing the integrity of the review process and maintaining the scientific quality of the proceedings.
This series is endorsed by the Asosiasi Dosen Indonesia (ADI), which supports and upholds the academic governance, ethical standards, and scholarly credibility of the publication. Through this endorsement, ADI affirms its commitment to advancing high-quality research and responsible innovation.
Publication Ethics & Integrity
The conference adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics. Authors must ensure that their submissions are original works that have not been previously published and are not under consideration by any other publication.
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software prior to peer review. Submissions exhibiting substantial textual similarity, data fabrication, falsification, or any form of academic misconduct will be rejected. In cases where misconduct is identified after publication, appropriate corrective measures, including retraction, may be taken.
Authors are required to properly acknowledge all sources and provide accurate citations. Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed at the time of submission.
Open Access Policy
All published papers in this proceedings series are made available under an open access model. Articles are immediately and permanently accessible online without subscription fees, enabling unrestricted access to readers worldwide.
The online publication of the proceedings is supported by the conference organizers to ensure broad dissemination of knowledge without financial barriers for readers.
